SAP E-Book

In this activity, you define additional date ranges for marketing projects and their elements. You can define up to 99 additional date ranges.

Date ID   Name   Period type   Buying Pattern   Search Date ID   Extract Date ID
Date 1:   Buy   Buying period   X
Date 2:   Promotion   Not specified
Date 3:   Pre-dip   Pre-dip     Search: ADD_DT_RANGE_01   Extract Date 3
Date 4:   Post-dip   Post-dip

Period Type

The period type indicates the purpose of the date. Additional date ranges can be used to represent the buying period, pre-dip or post-dip dates or for any other purpose.

Buying Pattern

You set the indicator for the buying pattern if the date is part of the date interval (min-max) for the buying pattern.

There can only be one buying pattern and the names should concur with the types.

Search Date ID

You select a Search Date ID that you can configure and include in the search criteria for trade promotions and deals. There are eight additional date ranges available. For information on how to use and configure the search criteria, see Further notes.

Do not define a Search Date ID for 'Plan' and 'Buy' dates. These date ranges are pre-defined as search parameters for trade promotions and deals. You can define up to eight additional date ranges and configure them to use as search criteria in trade promotions and deals.

Extract Date ID

You select an Extract Date ID that you can use to map the SAP CRM date range structure to the structure that is used to extract data to SAP Netweaver Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI). There are 10 date range extractors available.

For example: The scan date is defined with a Search Date ID of Search: ADD_DT_RANGE_03. If you choose Extract Date 5as the Extract Date ID, when you extract the trade spend data to SAP NetWeaver BI, the system verifies the customizing, and the data in the Extract Date 5 columns will be from the dates configured for ADD_DT_RANGE_03.

You can configure the date range search criteria that will be available in the search page for trade promotions and deals . Note: 'Plan' and 'Actual' date ranges cannot be customized as they are retrieved from the trade promotion.

  1. Run the BSP WD Component Workbench (BSP_WD_CMPWB) and open component TPMOE.
  2. Select Views -> TPMOE/Advanced Search and select the Configuration tab.
  3. Switch to edit mode.
  4. Click Show Technical Details to view the additional date range ID that is associated with a search criteria.
  5. Move the new date range criteria from the Available Select Criteria to the Selected Search Criteria in order to make the date range search criteria available in CRM WebClient UI.
Note that each additional date range has a start date and an end date search criteria, for example, for ADD_DT_RANGE_03, you will have ADD_DT_RANGE_03_ENDDATE and ADD_DT_RANGE_03_STARTDATE . Only those search date ID's that are mapped to a date range should be selected.
  1. You modify the search criteria label when the date range is available in Selected Search Criteria.
