In this step you define the connection of the CRM system to each of the external systems (ERP, BI, SEM, and cProjects). The following options are available to you:

Identification Parameter type   RFC Destination
MKTPL BW MKTPLBWRFC   (entry of your RFC destination for BI)
MKTPLCPRO MKTPLCPRORFC   (entry of your RFC destination for cProjects)
MKTPLR3 MKTPLR3RFC   (entry of your RFC destination for ERP)
MKTPLSEM MKTPLSEMRFC   (entry of your RFC destination for SEM)
MKTPLMB MKTPLMBRFC   (entry of your RFC destination for Measure Builder)

You adopt the RFC destinations from the activity Define RFC Connections.

Note

  • The entries MKTPL BW and MKTPLSEM are mandatory. With BI 3.51 and higher, the entry originally conceived for the SEM must contain a connection to BI, since the planning tool Business Planning and Simulation (BPS), which is used in Marketing, no longer belongs to SEM as of this release and has been integrated into SAP NetWeaver BI.
  • The entry MKTPLR3 is only relevant for online integration. For the integration type Middleware, the destination is determined from the corresponding site attribute in the middleware settings.
  • The entry MKTPLMB is optional. You need it in the following scenario:
  • You are using BI 3.51 or higher, in other words, a release in which the BPS has been integrated into BI and a separate SEM system is no longer needed.

  • However, you do not want to create your key figures in the master data maintenance in BI, which is the default, but wish to continue using the Measure Builder in SEM.

The entry therefore needs to contain the RFC connection to the SEM system.
  • The entry MKTPLCPRO is optional. You need it if other areas of your enterprise are planning projects with the tool cProjects and wish to establish a connection between the marketing planning with CRM and the project planning with cProjects. This is the case, for example, when you want to plan marketing measures for a product introduction in CRM and wish to refer to the product development planning by the research and development department, which was performed in cProjects.
