CRM_MKT_ELM_ORIGIN - Define List Origin
ABAP Short Reference ABAP Short ReferenceThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
In this activity you define the possible origins of your lists.
The values that you define here are available in the input help for the field Origin.
For each origin defined you can set the Consumer indicator to determine whether general business partners or consumers are created when you generate business partners.
You can assign the origin of an identification type for the business partner. For detailed information, see the definition of Origin.
If you are also using External List Management in SAP BI, you need to take note of the following:
If you import lists to BI that you then want to transfer to the CRM system using segmentation, you must make sure that Customizing for the list origin is identical in both systems (BI and CRM).
When transferring lists into the CRM system, only the technical key for the list origin is transferred. So that this list origin has the same semantic in both systems, it must be defined identically in BI and CRM (see example).
Problems could occur if the definition of the origin options were to look as follows:
Definition of list origin in BW
Origin | Description |
000001 | Cebit |
00002 | Sapphire |
00003 | Data provider XY |
Definition of list origin in CRM
Origin | Description | Identification type | Consumer |
000001 | Sapphire | ||
00002 | Cebit | CRM001 | X |
If a list with origin 000003 is transferred into the CRM System, this list cannot be saved in CRM as list origin 000003 is not recognized.
If a list with origin 000001 is transferred into the CRM System, this list has origin 000001 in CRM. This origin however has another description and another semantic.
