SAP E-Book

When creating an attribute list for segmentation, you are required to assign an attribute type to all the attributes these lists contain. The attribute type groups together similar attributes to enable them to be assigned together to the appropriate display type.

Grouping attributes in this way means you:

  • Avoid the need to assign a display type to each individual attribute.
  • Can switch the display type for a whole group of attributes en masse.

You create the attribute type Demographic to which you assign the attributes Country, Postal code, County.

SAP supplies the following attribute types as standard, each of which reflects the display types also supplied as standard:

Type Description
001 SAP - PIE CHART (STANDARD DELIVERY)
002 SAP - BAR CHART (STANDARD DELIVERY)
005 ALLOCATION PLANNING (STANDARD DELIVERY)
006 RFM ANALYSIS (STANDARD DELIVERY)
007 PICTOGRAM (STANDARD DELIVERY)

Each type is language-specific.

The display type Pictogram is new as of Release 3.0 Support Package 07. Note that you have to assign the pictograms to individual attribute values and select the attribute type Pictogram for the relevant attribute. You make these settings when creating data sources in the transaction Maintain Data Sources for Segmentation. For more information, see OSS note 0451582.

007

The attribute types you create should correspond to the display types used to represent attribute values in the Detail area of segmentation. You should therefore avoid creating an attribute type that contains attributes some of which should best be represented in, for example, pie chart form, others in bar chart form.

007
  1. Choose New entries.
  2. Enter a type (alphanumeric), the language, and a description.
  3. Save your data.
