A sales cycle is defined by time, by the start and estimated end date of an opportunity. The sales cycle of a product or service begins with the recognition of an opportunity. The process ends with a sales order or a rejection from the customer. The sales cycle for an opportunity is split into different phases, for example, first contact, quotation phase and so on.
In this step, you define the possible sales cycles for your enterprise. You then assign the sales cycle in Customizing to the business transaction type for opportunities. The sales cycle is set in the document, depending on the transaction type chosen.
