In this Customizing activity, you can access the program Check Settings for Organizational Data. You can use this program to do the following:

  • Compare the sales area data that you have defined in Sales and Distribution (SD) and in Service.
  • Check the Customizing settings for specific transaction types.
  • Check the organizational model data using various search criteria.

The program is a troubleshooting tool that provides you with an overview of the organizational data maintained in the two components. It also helps you to find out where information is lacking or incorrect.

You can run the various program checks as often as necessary, simultaneously or individually, to ensure that all inconsistencies in your organizational data, defined in the two components, have been resolved.

General Check

You can run this check to compare the sales area data you have maintained in SD and Service, allowing you to identify inconsistencies between these components. The system generates a list of the sales areas maintained in the two components and indicates where information is lacking or incorrect. To run the check, select the checkbox Adjust Sales Areas under General Checks, and execute the program. You use the information returned by the program to maintain the sales areas correctly in the organizational model in SD and in Service.

Analyze Customizing Settings

You run this check to display organizational data that you have entered in specific transaction types. You can choose a specific transaction, or you can run the program for all transactions at once. To run the check, enter a transaction type ID in the Transaction Type field (or enter an asterisk for all transaction types), and execute the program.

The system displays the organizational data maintained for the transaction. This includes organizational data profiles, scenarios, organizational unit rules, obligatory data fields, and responsibility rules. You can simulate the organizational data determination by selecting a transaction directly from the result list. The system carries out a simulated determination exactly as it would occur in a newly created transaction.

Analyze Organizational Model

You can perform the following checks regarding the organizational model (execute the program after having performed the activities outlined in the relevant bullet points):

  • You can search for an organizational unit by entering the organizational unit ID into the Organizational ID field.
  • You can search for an organizational unit using the organizational unit short text, by entering the short text in the Short Text field.
  • You can search for organizational units not flagged for data determination by selecting the Non-Determination-Relevant Organizational Units checkbox.
  • You can search for organizational units that are maintained in Service but that haven't been maintained in SD by choosing the Org. Units Without SD Ref. checkbox.

Each of these checks returns a list of the relevant organizational units. From each list, you can access the organizational model directly.

You have defined organizational data in SD and in Service and completed generating data from SD in Service.
