CRM_PDD_INFO - Product Substitution in the CRM System

You can use product substitution during the processing of a sales order. Here, the system can replace one product with another automatically. In this way, specific seasonal sales promotions can be supported.
The control of product determination takes place via the condition technique; this is described in detail in Pricing.
Note that in the R/3 System the term material is used for the term product. In addition to this, the term Material Determination in the R/3 System includes both material determination as well as material substitution.
Note:
Condition record maintenance for product determination is not supported in the CRM System.
If you wish to use product determination with product substitution in the CRM System, you have to download all Customizing settings, substitution reasons and material determination records from the R/3 System.
You can find Customizing for material determination (which corresponds
to product substitution in the CRM System),
and further information in the R/3 System under Sales and Distribution → Basic Functions → Material Determination in the Implementation Guide.
Create material master records for material determination in the R/3 System under Logistics → Sales and Distribution → Master Data → Products → Material Determination.
In order that you can use product determination with product substitution in the CRM System, proceed as follows:
- Download the Customizing settings, the substitution reasons and the material determination records from the R/3 System into the CRM System.
- Assign the product determination procedure to the requried transaction types.
