CRM_POSTYPVERW_001 - Define Item Categories Usages

The item category usage is generally used for items that do not refer to a product (for example, text items). The item category group is relevant for other items instead.

The item category usage is assigned to the respective transaction types when the item category is determined. When processing documents, the system determines the item category from the transaction type and item category group or the item category usage and proposes it in the document.

You assign item categories to transaction types and item category groups or item category usages in a separate activity. For more information, see the activity Define Item Category Determination.

Note

1. Check whether the item category usages in the standard system are sufficient for your requirements.
2. If necessary, create a new item category usage by entering alphanumeric key with a maximum of 4 characters and a text description.
