In this activity, you can enter default values for the set type CRMM_PRWTY (Basic Data on Warranty). Default values can be entered for the following fields of the set type:

  • Warranty category (customer warranty, vendor warranty)
  • Warranty basis (time-dependent, counter-dependent, time-dependent, and counter-dependent)
  • Date profile (comprises a predefined number of date types, durations, and date rules, which can be used together in a business context). For more information, see the Customizing section Basic Functions -> Date Management.
  • Warranty start (default value for the date type to be used for the warranty start)
  • Warranty end (default value for the date type to be used for the warranty end)
  • Duration (default value to be used for the warranty duration)
  • Accounting indicator (default value for the accounting indicator in the warranty master record)

These values are copied when a business user selects the appropriate template when creating a warranty. The values copied from the template can be changed and, until the warranty is saved, the business user can select a different template.
