General Material Data CPI1466 during BackupThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
- Note
- You can only execute this Customizing activity if you are assigned the 23 # Maintain activity for authorization object CRM_PLHIST.
In this activity, you can activate a version management for specific contexts. The version management contains the following functions:
- Power user concept for rule policy maintenance
- Note
- You have to assign authorization object CRM_PLHIST to the power users. The authorization object is used in addition to the authorization object CRM_ERMS_P. Only users with the authorization object CRM_PLHIST are authorized to create new policies in this context.
- Enhanced usability for tracking changes
- Comparing policy variants
- Deleting several policy variants in parallel
For more information, see SAP Library for Customer Relationship Management under Basic Functions -> Rule Modeler -> Version Management.
- Caution
- Before activating version management, consider carefully the impact on performance. Many inactive policy variants for large rules can have a negative effect on performance.
- The performance impact is limited to the maintenance of the rule policies only. The processing of rules is not affected because only one active policy variant can exist at any time.
In this activity, you define the contexts in which you want to use the version management. This enables you to restrict the version management to single business areas.
- Enter the contexts for which you want to activate the version management.
- Assign authorization object CRM_PLHIST to the users who should be able to maintain rule policies in the contexts that you have entered here.
