In this activity, you can make the most frequently used functions for the rule modeler maintenance available as a button or one-click action:

  • You can define a toolbar profile in which you group the buttons to be displayed in the work area toolbar. These buttons are displayed in addition to the standard buttons such as Save and Edit.
  • You can define a one-click action profile in which you group the one-click actions to be displayed for rule maintenance. The one-click actions are provided by icons that are available for each rule. You can use the one-click actions to organize your rule policies.

You can define different profiles with different sets of buttons or one-click actions. Use function profiles to assign your toolbar profile and one-click action profile to the business roles.

Define toolbar profile

  1. Define the toolbar profile. This profile determines the buttons in the work area toolbar.
  2. Specify the number of buttons that are to be displayed. If you leave this field empty, the system displays a maximum of eight buttons.
  3. Select your entry and choose the folder Assign Buttons to Toolbar Profile.
  4. Select all of the buttons you want to use. Use the input help.
  5. Specify the position of the work area toolbar at which the buttons are to be displayed. Position 1 represents the first button from left after the standard buttons.
Note
Place the MOVEDOWN and MOVEUP buttons in the last position. The system hides them when it is not possible to execute them. For example, the system hides the MOVEUP button when it is the first rule in a folder.

Define one-click actions

  1. Define the profile for the one-click action. This profile determines the buttons that are available for the single rules.
  2. Select your entry and choose folder Assign One-click Actions to Profile.
  3. Select the one-click actions you want to use.
  4. Specify the position in the action column at which the buttons are to be displayed for the rule. Position 1 represents the first position from the left in the action column.

Assign profiles to business roles

  1. Assign the function profiles to your business roles:
To do so, call up Customizing activity Define Business Role.
Note
If you do not assign customer-specific function profiles to the business roles, the system uses the default toolbar and the default one-click action profile. This applies to all business roles.
  1. Select the required business role.
  2. Choose folder Assign Function Profiles.
  3. Add the following function profiles:
  • Toolbar profile: RULE_MODELER_TOOLBAR

  • One-click action profile: RULE_MODELER_OCA
