CRM_SRC_001 - Define and Assign Search Strategies

In this Customizing activity, you define search strategies. You can use search strategies in the following cases:

• Pricing in the business transaction

• Business Rule Framework (BRF) in the business transaction

• Group of items to be processed together for:

• Certificate of acceptance

• Contract acceptance

• Change processes

• Cancellation of contract inception

• Cross-item processing for changes to transaction

• Distribution of collateral constellations

You make the settings for the search strategies in three steps, which are based on one another:

• Define search strategy
  First you define search strategies by entering a BAdI filter value and the cardinality.
  The BAdI filter value specifies which detailed Customizing settings must be entered for a search strategy.

• Display default search strategy
  SAP defines the default search strategy for each search entity and limits which cardinality you can use when you assign a search strategy to the search entity.
  You can only display this setting.

• Override default search strategy
  If you do not want to use the default search strategy for the search entity, you can override the default strategy by entering your own strategy provided the cardinality of your search strategy complies with the restriction defined by SAP.
