You can use logistics integration to trigger the procurement of services and spare parts planned in service orders.

The method of procurement is described as "Logistics Scenario for the Procurement of Materials and Services". For ease of reading, this will be abbreviated here to "logistics scenario". You can implement the following logistics scenarios:

  • Material reservation
  • Creation of purchase requisitions for materials
  • Creation of purchase orders for services and materials

You define the logistics scenario to be selected according to the criteria you specify.

Finding Data in the documents:

  • Using the standard document flow, you can view the following information at header level or at item level on the Document Flow tab page:
  • Document number and, at item level, the item number

  • Quantity at item level

  • Data relating to spare parts is displayed for the following Schedule Line Types at item level on the Schedule Linetab page:
  • Quantity ordered

  • Quantity confirmed

  • Quantity delivered

  • Quantity reserved

  • Information About the Progress of the Logistics Scenario is displayed on the Status -> System Statustab page:
  • Partially ordered

  • Completely ordered

  • Partially confirmed (shipping notification)

  • Completely confirmed

  • Partially delivered, and so on.

  • You have defined the storage location and plants where the spare parts are available in the activity Assign Plant and Storage Location to Service Organizational Units.
  • You use the activity Define Logistics Scenario for the Procurement of Material and Services to determine which logistics scenario is selected to procure planned spare parts or services in an item.
  • You have assigned a plant and a storage location for the spare parts using the Business Add-In: Determination of Plant and Storage Location.
