In this step, you make the settings to determine the screen profile. You assign a screen profile to a screen profile type and a transaction type, as well as a start function code.

In transaction processing, the screen profile is determined on the basis of these parameters.

Customers have access to a screen sequence control function which is available for assigning the screen profile. Other screen sequence control functions are not part of Customizing, but are system settings, for which a change is equal to a modification.

Perform complete screen sequence control processing via transaction CRMV_SSC.

  1. Choose a screen profile.
  2. Choose a start function code.
  3. Save your entries.

If a wildcard character (<*>) is entered in the transaction type column, the screen profile is determined independently of the transaction type, only based on the screen profile type. However, the system first searches for the transaction type specified. If it does not find a corresponding transaction type in the system, it searches for the entry with the wildcard character (<*>).

In the standard configuration, the table is filled so that a wildcard character exists in the transaction type for each application (that is, for each screen profile type). Since the transaction types in Customizing can be defined by the customer, and therefore not all transaction types are always available, an entry of this type always exists for the screen sequence control in such a case.

Further information on the screen sequence control is available in the SAP Library under Customer Relationship Management → Business Transactions → Basic Functions for Business Transactions → Screen Sequence Control.
