In this activity, you specify the tax jurisdiction code for each pricing procedure for calculating tax.

The tax jurisdiction code comprises a maximum of four parts according to the structure of the tax jurisdiction code of the pricing procedure concerned for calculating taxes: the state code, the county code, the city code and a local code component. Using these single parts, the tax percentage rate can be determined per tax authority.

You must have first defined the permitted length of the tax jurisdiction code. For more information on this, see the Defining tax jurisdictions activity.

  • Enter a pricing procedure for which you require a tax jurisdiction code. A list of all procedures included in the standard delivery can be displayed using the F4 Help.
  • Enter the tax jurisdiction code for the state, county, city and local code component.
  • Set the flag for determining the tax base and the cash discount base for the country code.

Note:

If tax is calculated using an external tax system, you only need to make an entry at the highest level in order to specify the tax base or cash discount base for the level "state".
If this entry is not available for a federal state, the setting for the organizational unit is used for the tax base/ cash discount base.
