SAP E-Book

You assign a number object interval to a territory hierarchy level, to automatically generate unique IDs for territories, created at that level. The SAP system automatically assigns a sequential number taken from the predefined number range interval .

In this Customizing activity, you define the number range from which territory IDs can be automatically derived. You can create new number range intervals here, or change existing ones.

To define a number range, you must first specify a number range interval:

  1. Choose Change Intervals, then Insert Interval. The Insert Interval dialog box appears.
  2. Enter an alphanumeric key (maximum 2 characters).
  3. Enter the lower and upper values of the number range interval. Intervals must not overlap each other.
  4. Choose Insert.
  5. Save your entries.

Transport

The transport of all changes made within number range interval maintenance must be triggered manually. You can transport number range objects from the Display Number Range Intervals screen, by choosing Interval -> Transport.

Delete all intervals of the number range object in question in the destination system. This will ensure that only the intervals you import will exist in the destination system after the transport. The number range values that are imported are the number range values that apply at the time of the export. Dependent tables are not transported or adjusted accordingly.
