SAP E-Book

In Territory Management, you use attributes to define rules for territories. You can use this Customizing activity, to migrate standard SAP delivered attributes and additional attributes that you have defined for territories, to the rule builder.

Data migration does the following:

  • Migrates data from table CRMM_TERRATTRIB to the rule builder,
  • Converts data into the required rule builder format and passes it on to rule engine APIs. The rule engine API converts territory management rules into a format required by the rule builder condition table and maintains it there.

Note: Since the entire process is time-consuming, we recommend that you carry out data migration in the background by scheduling a batch job.

  • You have created the required rule policies and rule sets in the CRM WebClient UI.
  • You know the rule policies and rule sets you want to use for each territory you are migrating. The system uses this to determine the rules that will be created.

Once you execute this activity, the list of territories that have attributes and no accompanying rules appears. These are all the territories you have to migrate.

  1. Select the territories, choose Set Rule Policy. The Rule Policyscreen appears.
Here you select the rule set and rule policy under which you want to group the territories you selected. Do this for all the territories.
  2. Schedule a Job.
The system checks if rule policies and rule sets have been maintained for all the territories; it also checks for other rule-related validations. Data is migrated at the scheduled time and rules are created.

Job Status and Log

  • To see the job log (Status: Finished) use transaction SM37 on the SAP Easy Access screen.
  • To see the the list of territories that have and have not been migrated (success/error log), go to transaction SLG1 after the data migration job is finished.

Data Correctness

  • In the CRM WebClient UI you can view the corresponding territory's rules in the Rulesassignment bock to verify if data has been migrated correctly.

Note:

Once data migration is complete, you have to update territory relationships via a batch job in the Initial Mode. For more information, see Update Territory Relationships.
