CRM_TPDAM_INT - Set Up Integration with Third Party DAM Systems

To integrate CRM Systems with third party digital asset management (DAM) systems, you need to do the following:

  1. Activate the switch for DAM functionality. Third party DAM integration uses switch CRM_MKT_DAM_1.
  2. Activate the Digital Assetassignment block in your CRM object. The Digital Asset assignment block has been integrated into the following CRM objects:
  • Marketing Plans

  • Marketing Elements

  • Campaigns

  • Products (Service)

  • Products (Material)

  • Products (IP)

  1. Configure the logical port for outbound service calls (the DAM destination)

When you have done this, you can make further settings for integrating third party DAM systems with your CRM objects. For more information, see the following:

Activating the switch for DAM functionality

To activate the switch for DAM functionality, do the following:

  1. Open transaction SFW2and enter or select Business Function CRM_MKT_PRD.
  2. Click Display.
  3. Select the Switchtab and ensure that the type selected for switch CRM_MKT_DAM_1 is set to Activation.

Activating the Digital Asset assignment block

To activate the Digital Asset assignment block in the CRM object, do the following:

  1. Make sure that the DAM switch CRM_MKT_DAM_1 has been activated.
  2. Go to transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB and open the component where the DAM assignment block has been integrated.
  3. Open the configuration of the overview page and move the CRM_DAM component from the available assignment blocks to displayed assignment blocks. Save the configuration

Configuring the logical port for outbound service calls

To configure the logical port for outbound service calls, do the following:

  1. Log on to the CRM system client you want to connect to the DAM system
  2. Start transaction SOAMANAGER.
A new browser window appears, which displays the SOA Management screen.
  1. Select the Service Administration tab.
  2. Click the Single Service Administration hyperlink.
  3. Search by Consumer Proxy and Digitalpattern (press the Gobutton).
The search result lists 4 services.
  • DigitalAssetCRMAllowedDigitalAssetTypesQueryResponse_Out

  • DigitalAssetCRMAllowedPropertiesQueryResponse_Out

  • DigitalAssetCRMVersionBasicDataByElementsQueryResponse_Out

  • DigitalAssetCRMVersionBasicDataByIDQueryResponse_Out

For each service operation listed above, do the following:
  1. Select the service and click the Apply Selection button.
  2. Select the Configurationstab.
  3. Click the Create Logical Port button
  4. Make an entry in the the URL for WSDL Access field
  5. Note: The corresponding services share their names, whereas the inbound services defining the endpoints end with "_In" and the outbound services defining the logical port end with "_Out".
  6. Select the Logical Port is Default option
  7. Enter appropriate user logon information (WSDL Access User and Password)
  8. Click the Apply Settings button.
  9. Click the Ping Web Service button.

Maintaining units of measure for file sizes

In the Customizing activity Check Units of Measurement, maintain all ISO codes used for measuring file sizes and map these ISO codes to the units of measure that should appear on the UI in the search result list and the assignment blocks.
