In this IMG activity, you define which object fields are available for input depending on the system status and the change level. You can make generic entries at all levels. Making a definition at a higher level restricts the lower definitions to the relevant values. It is important to remember that the field names on the application screens are not necessarily the same as the field names for the underlying objects that you store when defining status-specific input readiness of fields.

When you want to restrict input readiness of individual objects fields or entire objects in transaction processing according to user, proceed as follows:

  1. You first take the transaction type from transaction processing in the Header overview tab page.
  2. If the relevant field belongs to an item, take the item category of the item line.
  3. For field-specific checks, you call F1 Help from transaction processing and use the Technical information icon to obtain the structure names and field names for the field for which you want to define input- availability.
  4. Search for the corresponding object and field names from table CRMC_MAPPING. This table defines field assignment to the interface to the underlying objects and their fields.
  5. When checking complete objects, you only specify the object names and not the field names.
  6. You can find the status via transaction processing on the Status tab page. Select either system status or user status analysis. In the subsequent screen, the system displays the status and the corresponding technical short form. You need the technical short form for your table entries.
  7. Alternatively, you can determine the technical short form using the IMG activity for defining status-dependent input readiness of fields using the short form (e.g. OFFN) and F4 input help for the corresponding table status field.
