In this IMG activity, you define work area reluctance profiles. Cross-trained employees can be assigned to multiple work areas. Reluctance levels are used to determine what work area to assign shifts for a particular employee when there is a choice, and other schedule inputs (like forecast demand) are equal. The entries you make in this IMG activity help the system direct work area assignments.

There are two steps in this process. First, define a general profile. Then assign a reluctance profile to each employee with multiple work area assignments. Assign reluctance profiles to employees in the Employee Maintenance iView, Work Areas and Qualifications tab. The profile is based on the rank of the work areas you assign to the employee, and only applies to the number of work areas to which the employee can be assigned. Rank must also be in sequence.

Note that this activity is not required in implementations where employees have only a single work area assignment.
