SAP E-Book

You can define basic settings for the Count Stock app that control the following behavior:

  • Validity period of inventory counting documents retrieved from the backend system through the Past Days and Future Days settings. Documents with a planned count date outside the range defined by these settings are not provided to the Count Stock app. These settings also control the validity period that can be defined for the background cleanup job. It should run periodically to find and delete expired records in the Count Stock staging table.
  • Preloading of information about products to be counted to the app through the Preload Inv Products setting
You can preload information about products to be counted so that it is available when the app is started, or only load the information as associates select items to count. Preloading information provides associates with a faster response from the app as they will not have to wait for data from the back-end system. It also allows them to work offline when a connection to their network is temporarily unavailable. It is important to note that if the store has an exceptionally large volume of products assigned to the counting cycle, downloading, and storing all the data on the app might slow down the app's response time. The decision to preload data should consider the size of the data, the device hardware type, and the network connection.
  • Preloading of inventory activity-related information to the app through the Preload Inv Details setting
You can preload details about the inventory activity, such as zones that have been counted and completed, when the app is started, or only load them as associates choose items to count by checking this setting or leaving it blank.
  • Automatically set the uncounted products quantity to zero through the Enable Zero Count setting
When a store associate finishes a counting task it is possible that some products are uncounted. As a manager, you want all the uncounted products quantities to be set automatically to zero upon submission to backend system.

You can:

  1. Use the customizing schema Define Basic Settings for Count Stock Appdelivered with your system, or create a new one and set the following as required:
  • Validity period defined by a number of days in the past and in the future

Minimum value = 0 (today)
Maximum value = 999
Default values = 2 days for the pastsetting and 2 days for the futuresetting
  • Preload inventory product data

The following options are available:
1 = Load product data only when an inventory count list item is selected to count
2 = Preload all product data to the app so that it is available when the app is started
3 = No preload. No product information is received when the app is started nor does it download when the product is clicked. Product data is loaded on demand.
By default option is set as 1 (load product data only when an inventory item is selected to count)
  • Preload inventory activity-related details when the app is started

You set the option to preload all inventory-related details when the app is started by selecting the preload inventory details checkbox.
SAP provides this option unchecked as the default setting. Inventory details are only loaded when an inventory item is selected for a count.
  • Submit the uncounted products with a zero quantity

SAP provides this option unchecked as the default setting. Uncounted products are not submitted and will remain as uncounted in the SAP ERP backend.
You set the option to submit uncounted product with a quantity of zero by selecting the enable zero count checkbox.
When enable zero count checkbox option is set, there are two options when the store manager submits counting documents to the backend system:
·,,Submit and complete the inventory count: All the uncounted products in the counting document are submitted with a quantity equal to zero.
·,,Submit and keep inventory count open: Only the checked uncounted products in the counting document are submitted with a quantity equal to zero.
