In this activity, you define the relationship between amount or quantity fields and the related currency or unit of measure fields.

For the segments provided by SAP, the necessary settings are already provided. You only need to make settings in this IMG activity in these cases:

  • You have created your own customer-specific segments as part of the enhancement concept.
  • You have enhanced segments that were provided by SAP.

If either of these conditions is met, you still only need to make settings here if the amount field and currency field (or quantity and unit of measure field) are in different segments. If both fields are in the same segment, then you have to enter this relationship already when you create the DDIC structure in the ABAP Dictionary.

  1. In the Segment Name and Field Name columns, enter the name of the segment and the name of the field of the amount field or quantity field.
  2. In the Reference Segment and Reference Field columns, enter the name of the segment and the name of the field of the related currency field or unit of measure field.
Entering the related currency field or unit of measure field for an amount field is necessary for the later evaluation of the data, because it makes it possible for the system to format the extracted data correctly as needed for currencies or units of measure. The system displays amount and quantity fields with two decimal places if they do not have the correct assignment to currencies and units of measure. In addition, incorrect subtotals and grand totals can arise in the data view, if the system is not able to correctly identify amounts and quantities with their currency and unit of measure.
