In this Customizing activity, you specify the formatting rules for the material display types.

These rules are used by the Business Add-In (BAdI) implementation for the "BAdI for Conversion Exit MATN1" to format the material number value during input and output conversions.

Two display types are possible:

  1. NSN Managed– This display type is used to substitute the material number field with the NATO stock number ID.
  2. MPN:NCAGE Managed– This display type is used to comprise the manufacturer part number, a separator and the manufacturer code.

The following fields are visible. But you can only enter data for the MPN:NCAGE Managed display type.

  • Display Value: This field represents the manufacturer part number.
  • Offset Length 1: This field defines the number of characters to be observed for the manufacturer part number from the long manufacturer part number.
  • Offset Position 1: This field specifies the position from which the offsetting length must be observed for the Display Value 1 – either the first or last set of characters.
  • Separator: This field uses a single special character value. Do not use the special characters + and *. Other special characters are admissible here. The separator separates the manufacturer part number and the external manufacturer code number.
  • Display Value 2: This field represents the external manufacturer code from the vendor master.
  • Offset Length 2: This field defines the number of characters to be observed from the external manufacturer code number.
  • Offset Position 2: This field specifies the position from which the offsetting length must be observed for Display Value 2 – either the first or last set of characters.
