Add new status values that can be assigned to a case.

Add new status values that can be assigned to a case. Status is an attribute of every case that can be set by the user.

The columns in the status profile have the following meanings:

  • Status Profile Technical name of the status profile This setting is made automatically for you. You can edit the status values contained in the profile.
  • Status Profile Name: Name of the status profile

You can define multiple status values in each status profile. However, a case can have only one current status. (More than one status cannot be active at any one time.) The columns in the status profile have the following meanings:

  • Status: Number of a status, can be any number. The status with the lowest number is the initial status.
  • Status Description: Description of the status, can be anything.
  • System Status SAP provides system status values. You can view these in the input help. By entering a system status, you assign a specific system behavior to a status that you have created. The following system status values have the following system behavior:
  • 003 (external processing):The case is no longer ready for input. The user can change the status only by means of a pushbutton. The roles of the pushbuttons depend on the individual application (such as Public Sector, FIN, CRM).

  • 007 (completed):The case is no longer ready for input. The user can, however, still change the status. The user can change the status only by means of a pushbutton. The roles of the pushbuttons depend on the individual application (such as Public Sector, FIN, CRM).

  • 008 (closed):The case is no longer ready for input. The status cannot be changed.

  • 009 (canceled):The case is no longer ready for input. The status cannot be changed.

  • System Status Description: It is filled automatically.
  • Low Status: Lowest predecessor status The user can set the status only if the predecessor status is greater than or equal to the status entered here.
  • High Status: Highest predecessor status The user can set the status only if the predecessor status is greater than or equal to the status entered here.
  • Auto:The user cannot change the status (it is filled automatically on the basis of the system status).
  • Event: Only relevant if you are using the process route. The event is triggered when the status is set. The following events are available:
  • COMPLETED: The process route is ended.

  • CREATED

  • INPROCESS: The process route has been started.

Status Name System Status Lowest Status Highest Status
10 In Creation New/Open 0 10
20 New New/Open 0 20
30 In Processing In Process 0 40
35 In Legal Department For Release 20 37
37 Cleared by Legal Department Released 35 37
40 Processing Completed Completed 30 40
50 Completed Confirmed 40 40

Interpretation of the Status Schema:

The status controls the status changes. A status can be set if the status of the current status is greater than or equal to the lowest status number and smaller than or equal to the highest status number.

Example 1:The status "Cleared by Legal Department" can be set only if the lowest status is 35 ("In Legal Department") and the highest status is "Cleared by Legal Department". This means that the status "Cleared by Legal Department" can be set only if the current status is "In Legal Department".

Example 2: The current status is 30 ("In Processing"). Possible statuses that may follow on from this status are all statuses for which the following holds: Lowest status < = current status < = highest status
Possible follow-on statuses in this example would therefore be the following statuses: "In Legal Department" and "Processing Completed".
