In this activity you connect archived IDocs to the DRB.

This activity is only useful if you use data archiving with the archiving object IDOC.

If the object links have been deleted, the IDocs must have been archived with the links so that the system can find these links.

To display archived IDocs and determine the links from and to archived IDocs, you need two different archive information structures. For the display, the system requires an info structure for the field catalog SAP_IDOC_001. To determine the links, it requires an info structure for the field catalog SAP_DRB_IDOC_001.
If you only use the IDocs in the DRB to be able to follow cross-system processes, then you do not need an info structure for field catalog SAP_IDOC_001.
You only need an info structure for field catalog SAP_DRB_IDOC_001 if the object links for the IDocs (from the database) that you are interested in will be deleted.

For both field catalogs, you can use either a standard info structure or create one of your own.

  • Use of standard info structures
Activate the info structures SAP_DRB_IDOC_001 and SAP_IDOC_001. If data has already been archived, you may have to fill (recreate) the info structures.
  • Use of own info structures
Create info structures for the field catalogs SAP_DRB_IDOC_001 and SAP_IDOC_001.
Create a database index for the info structure for field catalog SAP_DRB_IDOC_001 as described in Definition of Database Indexes for Info Structures. The index should contain the fields MANDT and DOCNUM.
Activate the information structures. If data has already been archived, you may have to fill (recreate) the info structures.
