EAML_V_TCLS - Define Organizational Area for Characteristics with Linear Data

In this Customizing activity, you can define an organizational area that can be used to mark characteristics as relevant for linear asset management. If these characteristics are used in the classification of technical objects, it is possible to specify linear data for the corresponding characteristic values. This enables you to define segments of a linear asset where a certain attribute (characteristic value) is valid.

1. You either use the standard class types for equipment (002) and functional location (003) or you have defined your own class types with reference to object tables EQUI or IFLOT in the Customizing activity Maintain Object Types and Class Types.
2. You have defined an organizational area for the relevant class types in the Customizing activity Maintain Object Types and Class Types. To do so, choose subnode Class types -> Organizational Areas.
3. You have created a class with the relevant class type that you want to use for the classification of your technical objects.
4. You have assigned the organizational area to your class (transaction CL02, Basic data tab page) and to the relevant characteristics in the class (transaction CL02, Char. tab page).

To mark the organizational area as relevant for linear asset management, enter the class type, object table (EQUI for equipment or IFLOT for functional location), and organizational area.
