In this IMG activity, you can use the Web Service Administration to specify general settings for services, and you can test services using the Web Service Navigator. In detail, you can:

  • Set up the address of the J2EE server
This address is required to call the Web Service Navigator (Web Service Homepage).
  • Specify trace and log settings for the SOAP runtime
  • Generate and display WSDL files for Web services
Currently, only Document Style is supported for generating WSDL files. RPC Style is not supported.
  • Call the Web Service Navigator to test the Web services
You can use the WS Navigator to test a service by specifying suitable test data for the input parameter of the service request. In doing so, you must fill all required entry fields with data, otherwise the service cannot be started correctly. Once the service has started, the Web Service Navigator displays the return value of the service in a hierarchy structure. Note that in certain circumstances, you must first make the Customizing settings for the applications so that the service can be executed correctly.

  1. To specify the address of the J2EE server, choose Goto -> Setting Administration.
    1. Enter the address.
    2. Save your settings.
