ECPAO_V_ECTMPL - Define Additional Employee Central Entities for Employee Data
PERFORM Short Reference CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES - Frontend ServicesThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
In this Customizing activity, you can define Employee Central entities. An Employee Central entity represents an entity from SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central in the ERP system. SAP has defined default templates, which you can also see here. If the default templates suit your requirements, there's no need to define any custom templates.
You only need to define custom templates if you want to transfer data between ERP and Employee Central for an Employee Central entity for which SAP hasn't provided a default template.
If you create an Employee Central entity for a generic object, make sure that the generic object in Employee Central has an externalCode field to which you can transfer the employee ID. The externalCode field must have the User data type.
To define Employee Central entities, use the customer namespace, which means that the entity ID has to start with a number (0* - 9*).
This Customizing activity also shows the Employee Central entities are defined by SAP in the SAP namespace, which is A* - Z*.
For each Employee Central entity you add, enter a unique entity ID (see EC Entity ID) and a description (see EC Entity Description). Then make the following settings:
Basic Settings
- Enter the entity name (see EC Entity Name).
- To define whether you want to use the entity for a file-based or a Web service-based data transfer, select the communication channel you want to use (see Communication Channel).
- If you want to be able to assign your Employee Central entity to several transformation templates, select the Multiple Use checkbox (see Is Intended for Multiple Use).
- Specify if the Employee Central entity is effective dated (see Is Effective Dated).
- If your entity refers to a generic object in Employee Central, select the Is Generic Object checkbox (see Is Generic Object in EC).
- If your entity should inherit the metadata that you upload for another Employee Central entity, specify the entity that is to be used as the metadata basis (see EC Entity from Which Metadata Is Inherited).
- If your entity refers to a generic object in Employee Central, fill in the Object ID Field in EC field (see Object ID Field in EC).
- Specify the Employee Central field in which the start date is stored for the corresponding entity (see Start Date Field in Employee Central). For standard effective dated templates if the start date is specified, then the start date would be considered as a standard field. For standard MDF templates and custom MDF templates, start date would not be considered as a standard field.
- Specify the Employee Central field in which the end date is stored for the corresponding entity (see End Date Field in Employee Central). For standard effective dated templates if the end date is specified, then the end date would be considered as a standard field. For standard MDF templates and custom MDF templates, end date would not be considered as a standard field.
- Specify the segment of the SuccessFactors Compound Employee application programming interface (API) that corresponds to the entity (see Compound Employee API Segment).
Settings for ERP to Employee Central Integration
- Enter a sequence number (see Entity Upsert Sequence).
- If the entity has a parent entity in Employee Central, enter the ID of the parent Employee Central entity (see ID of Dependent EC Entity).
- If your template refers to a country-specific entity in Employee Central, specify the country version (see Country Grouping).
- Don't make entries in the following fields since these are only available for Employee Central entites that are defined by SAP in the SAP namespace:
- Deletion Permitted (see EC Entity Permits Replication of Data Deletion)
- HRIS Element ID (see HRIS Element ID of EC Entity)
Infotype-Specific Settings
- Specify the required infotype (see Infotype Required for EC Entity).
- If your Employee Central entity refers to an infotype that can't use a straightforward field mapping, enter the infotype in the Special Mapping Infotype field (see Infotype Requiring Special Mapping).
- If you need a specific mapping for your Employee Central entity, fill in the following fields:
- Processing Mode (see Special Processing Mode)
- Processing Infotype (see Infotype for Special Processing)
- Object Identification Field (see Object Identification Field for Special Processing)
- Repetitive Structure (see Repetitive Structure for Special Processing)
Next, go to the VC_ECPAO_MAP view cluster to assign your Employee Central entity to an transformation template. For more information, see Define Field Mapping for Employee Data.
