ECPAO_V_LOCALE_MAP - Map Languages from Employee Central and ERP
PERFORM Short Reference Fill RESBD Structure from EBP Component StructureThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
In this Customizing activity, you map locales such as nl_NL from Employee Central to language keys such as NL (Dutch) from the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Data transfer between Employee Central and ERP uses the languages you map here, when text fields (such as names or descriptions) are transferred. You need to define at least a mapping for the default locale that you use in Employee Central and specify it in the Define Organizational Data Settings for Employee Central Instance Customizing activity.
- Note
- Make sure that you use the correct format:
- The locale identifier from Employee Central must consist of a language identifier in lowercase and a location or country identifier in uppercase, linked by an underscore. For example: en_US (English, USA), en_GB (English, UK), fr_FR (French, France), fr_CA (French, Canada).
- The language identifier from the ERP system must be a two-character country ISO code. For example: EN, FR.
- Caution
- If you use two locales for the same language in Employee Central (such as en_US and en_GB), you need to decide which of these locales you want to map to an ERP language. In the ERP system, there's only one language identifier you can map (in our example: EN).
If you don't define any language mapping, no language-dependent data can be transferred. You are shown an error message in this case.
The language mappings you define here are used when you map language-dependent fields in the Define Field Mapping for Organizational Data Customizing activity. For example, to map the division name, you define a language-independent field mapping such as this in the Define Field Mapping for Data Replication Customizing activity:
Employee Central Field | Mapping Mode | ERP Infotype | Infotype Field |
---|---|---|---|
name_defaultValue | Infotype Mapping | Object (1000) | Object Name (STEXT) |
The Use Language Mapping checkbox is automatically selected for this field mapping. This means that this mapping is used as a placeholder. Based on this placeholder, the system creates language-specific field mappings for all languages that you have entered in the current Customizing activity. For example, a mapping for name.en_US. There's no need to define language-dependent mappings explicitly. For more information see Use Language Mapping.
