In this Customizing activity you can assign the set types you have created to divisions.

This step is optional.
If you are not using this option, all set types for the point of delivery (PoD) are active for all divisions (if you have a large number of customer attributes, this can cause performance problems).

When creating customer enhancements for PoDs, you must decide which attributes are relevant for which division. You can also create joint customer set types with attributes that are valid for more than one division. You can for example define one set of attributes that is valid for all divisions (01 electricity, 02 gas and 03 water) and one set type for deregulation that is only valid for 01 and 02 and a number of other set types that are only valid for one division.

For an example of a set type, see the master set type ISU_POD that is always valid for all divisions (it for example contains information about the division to which the PoD belongs).

You define the different divisions that you want to use for the PoDs here. They can be used in a flexible manner. You can for example use them to represent the utilities division (for example 01 = electricity, 02 = natural gas) of a company, but they can also represent any other services that may be required (for example, IS = insurance services, TS = telecommunication services).

If you have defined your divisions for the PoDs, you can assign the set types you have created to the division. The set type ISU_POD is always available. This is the master set type that contains the information about the division. The fields EUI_EXT_UI and EUI_INT_UI are very important because they are used as a technical identifier.

The view Field Selection is only relevant if you are not using an IC Web Client user interface. In this view, you can maintain some field settings such as those for the E-Commerce scenario (currently only available for the telecommunications sector). In the IC WebClient we are using the configuration tool to do this.
