Group electronic documents with errors by error category on the Error Analysis page in the Manage Electronic Documents app.

This configuration activity is intended for the following countries/regions using the Manage Electronic Documents app:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden

In this configuration activity, you define error categories that are used to group electronic documents with errors on the Error Analysis page in the Manage Electronic Documents app. Examples of error categories include master data error and communication error.

By default, electronic documents with errors are listed on the Error Analysis page and are grouped by error code. Suppose a document has multiple errors belonging to different error codes and it's the only document with all these errors. In this case, the system concatenates the error codes and uses the concatenated error code as the error code of the group, which contains one document only. Only if there are other documents having the same multiple errors, does the system put them in the same group.

With this configuration activity, you can add one more level of grouping documents with errors, which is error category, to the Error Analysis page. Error categories display as tabs. On a tab, you can find all the documents with errors belonging to that error category and the documents are also grouped by error code. If a document has errors belonging to different error categories, it's listed on all the relevant tabs. In this case, the system concatenates the error codes and uses the concatenated error code as the error codes of the groups on all the relevant tabs.

You can also define a person responsible, their email address, and a solution proposal for an error category. As a result, the information appears on the top of the tab for that error category. This helps users fix errors or find the person responsible easily.

In addition, the following tabs appear automatically if you have defined error categories:

  • All (first tab): Groups all documents by error code.
  • Others (last tab): Groups the rest of the documents not covered by the defined error categories by error code.

Proceed as follows:

  1. In the Enter Processes dialog, enter your process.
  2. In the Define Error Categories dialog, define an error category for your process. You can also define the person responsible, their email address, and solution proposal.
  3. In the Assign Error Codes to Error Categories dialog, assign error codes to the error category.
  4. Save your changes.
