In this Customizing activity, you define the party identification types that customers use in the Pan-European Public Procurement Online (PEPPOL) network.

To do that, you assign party identification types to customer numbers. Based on this assignment, the system can retrieve the value of the party identifier that belongs to the customer during outbound or inbound eDocument creation.
