This Customizing activity describes the settings that you need to make to use endpoint management. Endpoint management uses the IUCLID Web service to synchronize IUCLID study records with endpoint data records.

To use the IUCLID Web services, you must configure one Web service client per Web service. Depending on the number of operating IUCLID Web service installations, you must define one or multiple logical ports for each Web service client.

  • You have the URLs of the running instances of the IUCLID Web service available, for example, http://://.

  1. Configure the Web service consumer clients as follows:
    1. Use the SOA Manager under Service Administration View -> Web Service Configurationto search for the consumer proxies and to manually create the logical ports for the following IUCLID Web service proxies:
External Name Internal Name
WsDocumentAccessInterface CO_EHPRC_I5WS_DOCUMENT_ACCESS
WsEndpointAccessInterface CO_EHPRC_I5WS_ENDPOINT_ACCESS
WsMessagingInterface CO_EHPRC_I5WS_MESSAGING_INTERF
WsQueryEngineInterface CO_EHPRC_I5WS_QUERY_ENGINE_INT

WsReferenceTrackerInterface CO_EHPRC_I5WS_REFERENCE_TRACKE

WsSessionInterface CO_EHPRC_I5WS_SESSION_INTERFAC

  1. Select the service proxy and choose Apply Selection. Create or edit the logical port in the detail table view Configurations. We recommend that you create a logical port based on the WDSL URL of the corresponding IUCLID Web service. Make sure that you configure at least the computer name and port number of the access URL and the URL access path (for example, ///services/<iuclidEngine>/).
Note:
  • We recommend that you use a suitable name for the logical ports since the name of the logical ports is visible on the IUCLID login screen that displays the IUCLID Web service that is used. Use the same logical port name for all eight proxy definitions of one IUCLID instance to ensure that the IUCLID Web service communication works properly.

  • If there are multiple IUCLID Web service installations active, you must configure one logical port for each Web service client and active Web service installation. At runtime, SAP EHS Management determines the Web service installation that is used based on the substance. For more information, see BAdI: Implement IUCLID Substance and Instance Mapping.

  • You can delete the existing logical ports and create new ones with the name of your IUCLID instance or IUCLID server.

  1. Use the logical ports that you configured to configure the IUCLID background synchronization in the Customizing activity Specify IUCLID Web Service Logical Ports. In this activity, you can also specify the user credentials for the IUCLID synchronization background job. We recommend that you create a separate user for the background synchronization with IUCLID.
  2. Set up a synchronization background job to synchronize the substance data between endpoint management and IUCLID. For more information, see Specify and Schedule Jobs for Endpoint Data Record Synchronization with the IUCLID System and Unlinking Endpoint Data Records.
  3. Configure and activate the Business Add-In BAdI: Implement IUCLID Substance and Instance Mapping.

For more information about the IUCLID Web services, see the official IUCLID Web page or the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) Web page.

For more information about setting up the IUCLID Web services, see SAP Note 1399434.
