In this Customizing activity, you specify an RFC destination to SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (BW). The RFC connection is required to call BW analytical reports from the SAP EHS Management system. This enables you to display multidimensional reports and dashboards from the report launchpad of the application.

You need to specify an RFC destination if you use BW for analytical reporting.

The RFC destination is not maintained in the standard system.

To specify the RFC destination in this Customizing activity (transaction SM59), create a new RFC connection of type HTTP Connections to External Server with the following settings:

  • RFC destination name: SAP_BI
  • Target system settings: Maintain host and port of the BI-JAVA system
  • Maintain logon data

If you want to use the SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards for SAP EHS Management, you have to create an additional RFC destination.

To enable direct access to the process log and to task management from the process reporting dashboards or to the Risk Assessment OIF from the Top Risks dashboard, you have to set up an RFC connection to the SAP EHS Management system.

To specify the RFC destination in this Customizing activity (transaction SM59), create a new RFC connection of type HTTP Connections to ABAP Systems with the following settings:

  • ,,RFC destination name: SAP_EH_FW_WFF_REPORT_TARGET
  • ,,Target system settings: Specify the target host and service number accordingly for your system for SAP EHS Management and not for the BW system.

Note

Depending on whether you use the SAP NetWeaver Portal or the SAP NetWeaver Business Client, you must use the following prefixes:

  • ,,/irj/portal/ (SAP NetWeaver Portal)
  • ,,/nwbc/ (SAP NetWeaver Business Client)

The variables and are used in the dashboard implementations and are automatically replaced by the system.


Note

The connection test of this RFC connection fails, because the parameters you defined here are not used for a direct connection to a system, but rather they are extracted into BW and used for the creation of a URL.

  • To check if the values you have entered are correct, just concatenate your values to a URL as follows:
  • : (without the placeholder or )
  • Call this URL in the browser. If the logon screen of the NWBC or portal appears, you have configured the values correctly.
