SAP E-Book

In this activity, you specify the technical parameters for the compliance check.

You have assigned the characteristics of the parameters for selecting the constraints to both the value assignment types of the constraints and of the results, in the previous activity Set Up Parameters for Selecting Constraints and Constraint Validity.

The characteristics must be part of the classes that are used to define the constraints and the result.

Define the parameters. Note the following information:

  • Parameters for Expert
  • You can also change the parameters for Expert on the initial screen of the compliance check if you have sufficient authorization (authorization object C_EHSB_REG). The system uses these parameters for the current compliance check run; this does not change the settings you made in this IMG activity.

  • No input help is available for the technical parameter set of rules.

  • The system saves the data provider and data origin parameters in the result of the check. You can tell from the data origin whether a result was produced by the compliance check or whether it was created or changed manually.

  • Parameters for Result of Check
  • The system uses the identification listingto determine identifiers of the substances with constraints for the display on the individual result screen.

  • The compliance check stores part of the data for the result of the check in the Expert explanation component. To set up the explanation component, you have to specify the characteristic for the name of the set of rules and the user-defined text type for the explanation. For more information about the Expert explanation component, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Product Safety and Stewardship under Basic Data and Tools -> Tools -> Expert -> Extend Entry in Secondary Data Determination.

  • The characteristics for the composition type, result of check, and compliance statement must be assigned to the value assignment types for results. The characteristics must also have the following properties:

Characteristic | Data type | Number of digits | Indicator for upper/lowercase | Value assignment
Composition Type | Character format | 10 | Selected | Multiple values
Result of check | Character format | 30 | Selected | Single value

The characteristic for the compliance statement must be phrase-enabled.
  • You must not define a usage profile for the value assignment type for result of check.

You assign usage profiles in Customizing when you specify the value assignment type under Recipe Development -> Specification Management -> Specification -> Specification Database Structure -> Settings for Value Assignment -> Specify Value Assignment Types.
  • The value assignment type and the characteristics must have been entered in the mapping of the set of rules.

  • Parameters for Individual Result
  • The system uses the specified value assignment type and the characteristics to identify and display the individual result data generated in the set of rules. The value assignment type and the characteristics do not have to exist in the system because the individual results are not saved permanently.

  • Make sure that the value assignment type and characteristics have been entered in the mapping of the set of rules.

  • Parameters for Substance Group with Constraint
Make sure that the value assignment type and characteristics have been entered in the mapping of the set of rules.
If you are using existing characteristics, they must have the following properties:
Characteristic | Data type | Number of digits | Value assignment
Characteristic for Substance | Character format | 12 | Single value
Characteristic for Constraint Type | Character format | 5 | Single value
Characteristic for Overrun Factor | Numerical format | 15 with 6 decimal places | Single value

  • Additional Parameters
  • We recommend that you use the program REHSB_RC_COMPLCHK_BKGND_START for the compliance check in the background.

  • Retention Period for Logs

During the compliance check, an application log is created and saved with the result of the check. You can call the application log within the retention period using transaction SLG1. Use the object EHRC.
  • If you want to use the search engine service (SES) to determine the constraints, you have to connect the TREX server.

You also have to create an active implementation of the Business Add-In (BAdI) EHSB_RC_CPOINTER and periodically schedule the report COM_SE_DISPATCHER to run as a background job at least once a day.
