To set up the compliance check, you first have to make the following settings in other areas.

Note the dependencies described here with regard to other functions in Product Safety and Stewardship.

Then perform the activities in the Implementation Guide for the Compliance Check.

The compliance check is currently only used in the Recipe Management (PLM-RM) component. SAP supplies a standard Customizing for this application. For more information, see the Recipe Management Implementation Guide (IMG) under Set Up Compliance Check for Recipe Management.

  1. Create classes and characteristics for the constraints and the overall result in the classification system. To do this, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Cross-Application Components -> Classification System -> Master Data.
  2. Create the corresponding value assignment types in Customizing for Product Safety and Stewardship, by choosing Basic Data and Tools -> Specification Management -> Specification Database Structure -> Settings for Value Assignment -> Specify Value Assignment Types.
  3. Create property trees and assign the value assignment types in Set Up Property Trees.
  4. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics -> Product Safety and Stewardship -> Basic Data and Tools -> Phrases. Create phrases and phrase sets for the characteristics you want to use for phrasing. These are, for example, characteristics for the parameters for constraint validity, characteristics for selecting constraints, and characteristics for compliance statements.
  5. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics -> Product Safety and Stewardship -> Basic Data and Tools -> Tools -> Match Up Master Data and select the Match Up ValAss Type and Char. indicator.
All characteristics with a 30-digit character format of the class type 100 that are assigned to a value assignment type are marked by the system as phrase-enabled characteristics. You can assign a phrase set to these characteristics.
  1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics ->Product Safety and Stewardship -> Basic Data and Tools-> Phrases-> Edit Phrase Set-to Attribute Assignments.
Assign a phrase set to all characteristics that you want to use for phrasing, such as characteristics for the parameters for constraint validity or for selecting constraints.
  1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics -> Product Safety and Stewardship -> Basic Data and Tools -> Tools -> Match Up Master Data again and select the Activate Phrasing of Characteristics indicator.
The system assigns an input help (function module C14K_PHRASECHARACT_CHECK) to all phrase-enabled characteristics. The input help allows an assigned phrase set to be called. The characteristics can then only be assigned phrases from the phrase set assigned.
  1. If you want to replace the classes, characteristics, or value assignment types supplied by the system with your own, adjust the set of rules accordingly.
  2. In Customizing for Product Safety and Stewardship, choose Basic Data and Tools -> Specification Management -> Specification Database Structure -> Settings for Value Assignment -> Set Up Table-Based Value Assignment. Deselect the Editabilityindicator (if selected) for all characteristics of the value assignment type used for the result of the check.
  3. On the Usage tab page, select the Active indicator for all value assignment types that represent constraints because Expert can only process active usages.
  4. Set up the explanation component and note the information in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Product Safety and Stewardshipunder Basic Data and Tools -> Tools -> Expert -> Extend Entry in Secondary Data Determination in the section that starts You set up the explanation component of the Expert using the following parameters:.
In mapping for the set of rules, enter the value assignment type in which the explanation is saved in the form of a user-defined text.
  1. In Customizing for Product Safety and Stewardship, choose Basic Data and Tools -> Basic Settings -> Manage User Exits.
Make sure that a user exit for secondary data determination exists for specifications with the parameters and values contained in the following table. The values must correspond to the values specified in the Set Up Technical Parameters IMG activity.

Note the following information if you generated a phrase set for all characteristics with a 30-digit character format of the class type 100 automatically, by performing the following activity in Customizing for Product Safety and Stewardship Basic Data and Tools -> Specification Management -> Specification Database Structure -> Settings for Value Assignment -> Generate Standard Phrase Sets:

Check whether the system also assigned phrases to characteristics in the compliance check that were not intended for this purpose, for example, to the characteristic for the status of the result of the check. If this is the case, proceed as follows:

  1. Delete the input help (function module C14K_PHRASECHARCT_CHECK) from the characteristic.
  2. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics -> Product Safety and Stewardship -> Basic Data and Tools -> Phrases -> Edit Phrase Set-to-Attribute Assignment.
  3. Delete the phrase set assignments.
