In this Customizing activity, you specify the settings for sending ESComXML files.

The following settings are shipped with the standard system:

  • Communication group,,ESC
  • Keep Comm.Type,,< >
  • Send Compressed File,,X

Communication group

The communication group ESC is delivered as the standard setting. Check if you wish to use the communication group for sending the ESComXML file.

If you do not wish to use the standard settings, you need to make the following settings:

When doing so, take note of the Customizing activity Prerequisites for Shipping ESComXML Files.

Keep Comm.Type

If an e-mail address has been maintained for the recipient of a shipping order, the communication type for the shipping order is automatically set to e-mail provided that a report is sent for which an ESComXML file exists. This is also the case if the standard communication type is note-mail.

Select the checkbox if you wish to keep the standard communication type.

This is only relevant if the sales order is triggered by a delivery or a sales order.

Example:

Communication types 'Letter' (LET) and 'E-Mail' (INT) are available for the recipient. The standard communication type 'Letter' is pre-defined. If you do not select the checkbox, the extended safety data sheet is sent to the recipient with the ESComXML file by e-mail. If you select the checkbox, only the extended safety data sheet, without the ESComXML file, is sent by post.

Send Compressed File

Select the checkbox so that the ESComXML file can be sent in compressed form with the extended data safety sheet. If you do not select the checkbox, the ESComXML file is not sent in compressed form. In this case, the ESComXML file can exceed the permitted file size for e-mail shipping. Specify the permitted file size in the Customizing activity Specify Shipping Objects.
