In this IMG activity, you set up a job for the report RC1WFSUB that starts the workflow in Prodcut Safety and Stewardship.

The report RC1WFSUB executes the following steps:

  1. It lists all change documents for specification data that has been created since the last time the report was started.
  2. It generates a list of the following combinations (specification, changed object).
The list is generated from change documents and displays the relevant specification for each object change. Changes may have been made to the following objects:
  • Value assignment types

  • Header data (ESTRH)

  • Identifiers (ESTRI)

  • Material-specification assignment (ESTMJ)

  • References (ESTRR)

  1. It checks and compares the combinations (specification, changed object) with the start condition in the workflow definition (see Specify Start Condition).
All specifications that have passed the check are transferred as a set of specifications to the workflow.
  1. It starts the workflow using the function module SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW.
Only those workflows are started for which a start condition has been entered.

You have specified the following environment parameters:

  • WF_SUB_FLG_ACTIVE (activates the workflow)
  • WF_SUB_DATE_FROM and WF_SUB_TIME_FROM (specify the time period that is checked by the report RC1WFSUB).

For more information about environment parameters, see Check User Exit and Environment Parameters.

  1. From the SAP Easy Access screen, choose System -> Services -> Jobs -> Define Job.
  2. Enter a job name and choose the appropriate job class.
  3. Choose Edit -> Start time and in the dialog box that appears, choose the function Date/Time.
  4. Enter the appropriate data and select Periodic job.
  5. Choose Check and save.
  6. Choose Edit -> Steps and in the following dialog box Create Step 1, choose the function ABAP program.
  7. Enter RC1WFSUB as the name of the ABAP program.
  8. Choose Check and save.
The step list appears.
  1. Go back and save.
  • The job must be scheduled in the background.
  • The workflow must not be started when the system is in use. We recommend that you schedule the workflow to start at night.
