In this Customizing activity, you define the gasoline cost per kilometer for daily commute. The system uses the amount as the unit price to calculate the default commuting allowance for employees.

The system reads this unit price when an employee creates or changes a record for commuting method grouping 2: Non-commercial Transport., and chooses the Default Amount pushbutton.

You have assigned the commuting methods to group 2 in Customizing for Personnel Managementunder SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Service (Web Dynpro ABAP) -> Service-Specific Settings -> Settings for Country/Region-Specific Services -> Japan -> Benefits and Payment -> Commuting Allowance -> Assign Commuting Methods to Grouping.

To calculate an employee's default commuting allowance, you must have already determined the default number of working days in a month in Customizing for Personnel Managementunder SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Service (Web Dynpro ABAP) -> Service-Specific Settings -> Settings for Country/Region-Specific Services -> Japan -> Benefits and Payment -> Commuting Allowance -> Special Settings for Commuting Method Grouping: Non-Commercial Transportation -> Feature: Determine Number of Working Days in a Month.

Define the gasoline cost per kilometer by the following:

  • National average
    Define a national average amount, and the commuting allowances for all employees are calculated based on the average amount.
  • Company code
    Define the amount as per company code, and the commuting allowance differs according to the company code of an employee.
  • Personnel area and subarea
    Define the amount based on personnel areas and subareas, and the commuting allowance differs according to the personnel area and subarea that an employee belongs to.
