In this step, you can activate and deactivate the division of print jobs of Online W-2 when running Tax Reporter in background for a large number of employees. By activating it, you can improve the performance of Tax Reporter productive execution. If you set the value to 'ON', the Tax Reporter reads the UTRPS feature, based on how it is configured (which tax company should be divided). In consequence, prior to this activation, it is required to configure the Define Tax Reporter print job (RPCTRPU0) splits feature to generate the split of your Online W-2 productive runs.

Note:When you set the Online W-2 job split to 'ON', the system uses the current period to find a valid record. That means, the system enables the job split of an execution in 2016 or prior to that, even though you have activated this configuration option as of 01.01.2017. In addition, the split will be taken into account only if this configuration option is activated.

Execute this Customizing activity and define the value of the W2SPL(ONLINE W-2 JOB SPLIT) configuration option by making the corresponding entry in table view Customer Values for Configuration Options (V_T5F99K2) according to the needs of your company. The possible values are as follows:

  • 'Off': Do not split
  • 'On': Split according to feature UTRPS

The example below shows how to configure the feature so that the print jobs can be split for Tax Companies US01 and US02. The example provides two different tax companies, each of them having two different options on how to split the print jobs (paper and online).

TXCMP Tax Company

US02 US tax company 2

5/999999#10/999999

US01 US tax company 1

0/4#0/8

The first number indicates the maximum number of employees processed per print job in program RPCTRPU0. The second number indicates the number of print jobs in program RPCTRPU0 into which the tax company shall be divided. The first number always takes precedence over the second number. Consequently, if the first number is a non-zero value, then the system will ignore the second number.

NOTE: In the example above, the print jobs are divided into paper and online. The '#' should be placed when you desire the Online W-2 print jobs to take place. If you do not maintain feature UTRPS, the default value is "999999/ ". This means that one print job is submitted for all employees. (In other words, the print job is not split.)
