ESS_WDA_PAUS_W4_002 - Assign State-Specific Texts on Form W-4

In this Customizing activity, you change the texts to be displayed on a Form W-4 created via Employee Self-Services.
In the standard system, when youEnable Form W-4 Creation for States , per default the text on the state form is the same as the text for the Federal Tax Authority.
In this activity, you can hide sections of the text, and replace them with your own texts.
To use your own text in the Form W-4, you must create the text in advance using transaction SE61. To do so, access transaction SE61 and create one or more general texts in customer namespace as required by your company.
Execute this Customizing activity and proceed as follows:
- .Create an HR Attribute Group for the state you want, for example by filling in the fields as follows:
- -HR Attribute Grouping field: GR_TAXAU_CA
- -HR Attribute Group Description field: CA Tax Authority
- -HR Attribute field: CL_W4_TAXAU
- -Description for HR Attribute field: Tax Authority for W4
- -Customizable Value of HR Attribute field: CA (this field identifies the tax authority for which you want to change the text)
- .Select the line you just created.
- .Navigate to the HR Attribute Values (from the dialog structure on the left).
- .In the HR Attribute field, enter the name of the standard text you want to hide or replace. For the list of standard texts and sections of the Form W-4, refer to the table below under Mapping of the Form W-4 sections and their texts in the standard system.
- .Enter the validity dates.
- .In the Customizable Value for HR Attribute field, enter one of the following:
- -To hide the standard text: Leave the field blank.
- -To replace the standard text: Enter the name of your own standard text.
- Refer to the Prerequisitessection for instructions on creating your own texts.
In the standard system, all sections of Form W-4 from section number 5 onwards have a general text assigned to them. This general text can be hidden or replaced by your own text, as described above.
Refer to the table below for the sections and the general text assigned to each of them:

The sections marked with (*) are blank lines in the standard system. You can, however, create texts to be used in these sections.
