SAP E-Book

This organizational Customizing activity gives you an overview of the changes that you can make to the Personal Profile self-service application.

The Personal Profile enables employees to display and change their own personal data. This includes information on their address and bank details, personal data, details of family members, and communication data.

The Personal Profile has the advantage that you can integrate multiple infotypes as business cards. This enables various services to be launched from one page. A business card in the Personal Profile represents personal data that is stored in a Personnel Administration infotype.

The Personal Profile consists of overview and detail screens that you can adjust to suit the user’s requirements.

You can make the following adjustments:

  • Implicit Personalization
All implicit personalization options that are supported by Web Dynpro ABAP are available, for example, hiding fields or specifying default values for input fields. All personalization changes are stored in the system until the administrator or employee deletes the personalization.
  • Explicit Personalization
Explicit personalization comprises all changes that the administrator makes to the application. These changes apply to all users.
Examples of explicit personalization are:
  • Changing the layout of the Personal Profile page

  • Customizing the business card fields

  • Customizing the detail screen

  • Including new infotypes

  • Making settings in the view Customer: Define Field Characteristics(V_T588MFPROPC)

You can make these settings in the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide under Personnel Management -> Personnel Administration -> Customizing Procedures -> Infotypes -> Infotypes in Detached Infotype Framework -> Customer: Define Field Characteristics.
