You can connect SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search to a central LDAP directory that is located in the customer landscape.

Perform the following steps to synchronize the AS-ABAP repository with the LDAP directory:

  1. Use transaction LDAP to configure and manage information that is required when using the LDAP connector. See sections Requirementsand Activities.
  2. To be able to use the user data in the customer#s LDAP directory in SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search, you need to map the SAP data fields to attributes of the LDAP directory services. For more information, see Mapping the SAP Data Fields to Directory Attributes in the administration documentation of SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search.
  3. Synchronize the ABAP user store and the LDAP directory. For more information, see Synchronizing the ABAP User Store and the LDAP Directory in the administration documentation of SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search.

  1. You have configured an LDAP connector. For more information, see Configuring the LDAP Connector in the standard documentation of SAP NetWeaver.
  2. You have performed a connection test in transaction SM59 by clicking the Connection Testfield.
  3. You have defined a system user for the directory service with read authorization. For more information, see Define System User of the Directory Service in the standard documentation of SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search.

You are on the screen for transaction LDAP.

  1. Choose LDAP Serversand create a new entry for an LDAP server. In the System Logon field, enter the previously configured system user.
  2. Open transaction LDAP again and in the Serverfield, select the LDAP server that you created in the previous step.
