You define valuation views in order to map valuations in accordance with different regulations (for example, commercial or tax laws).

In Asset Accounting, you define valuation views in order to map valuations in accordance with different valuation rules (for example, according to local commercial or tax laws, or according to international accounting principles).

In the valuation view, you can also define rules for calculating depreciation.

For the general mapping of accounting principles (for example, according to IFRS and according to local law) you use a General Valuation View.

Further types of valuation views are available. You use Investment Support for example, to make special settings for investment support.

The valuation view is defined on the client level.

You have defined the accounting principles under Define Accounting Principles.

SAP provides valuation views for each country or region.

To create a valuation view, proceed as follows:

  1. Enter a key for the valuation view and a name.
  2. Specify the type of valuation view (for example, General Valuation View or Investment Support).
  3. If necessary, specify a country/region-specific type of valuation view.
  4. With value maintenance, specify values allowed for acquisition values, net book values, depreciation, etc.
Detailed information about the settings can be found in the relevant field help.
  1. Save your entries.
