In this activity, you see the interface components that you can use when defining revenue accounting item classes.

Depending on the definition of the interface component, the following objects are entered for it:

  • The data element that contains the documentation for the interface component
  • The key fields for the different record types
    For each combination of record type and status, the structure of key fields is defined for the database tables to be generated.
  • The different revenue accounting item class types and statuses
    Here it is also possible to define if an interface component is mandatory for the given combination.

SAP provides preconfigured interface components that you can use immediately. These include basic components, which are mandatory for each record type, as well as other optional components that you can add to a class.

It is not possible for you to create your own customer-specific interface components.

In addition, the following settings define an interface component:

  • Assigned Structures
    The assignment of structures depends on the record type and the status. For entries that do not belong to the Main Item record type, it might be specified that these entries are only conditionally active.
  • Prerequisite Components
    This setting indicates which interface components are prerequisites. Prerequisite components get activated automatically when the current component is used in the revenue accounting item class.
  • Program Enhancements
    The following program enhancements are defined:
  • Enrich raw items

  • Enrich processable items

  • Final check before saving processable items

These enhancements are realized using methods of the class CL_FARR_RAI_IFCOMP.

Under Key Fields, for each combination of record type and status, you find the structure of key fields used to generate the database tables.

Under Assign Components to Class Type and Record Type, you find which combination of class type and record type has been assigned to which interface components.
