FCO_COPA_EX_N - Exceptions for Postings to Profitability Segment

Define exceptions for postings to a profitability segment.

You can define exceptions for postings to a profitability segment when the G/L account to be posted to is of type 'nonoperating expense or income' and thus, has no cost element category assigned. Normally, an error message is issued in such cases, alerting you that a cost element category needs to be assigned to this account.

However, it may not always be appropriate to post to a profitability segment, particularly if the posting has no relevance for operating results from continuing operations, such as interest from intercompany sales in an invoice. To suppress the error message, you can specify the relevant G/L accounts here and post without a profitability segment.

Based on the chart of accounts, specify the nonoperating expense or income accounts for which you want to suppress the error message, thus enabling posting to these accounts without a profitability segment.

To create a new entry, choose New Entries and specify the following:

1. Chart of accounts
2. G/L account

Choose Save to save your entries.
