Maintain the transaction types used for unplanned depreciation.

In this Customizing activity, you maintain the transaction types used for unplanned depreciation.

In Japan, companies need to declare the difference between "Depreciation based on Book" and "Depreciation based on Corporate Tax" by using Annex16 forms. Depreciation shortage occurs when the net book value (NBV) in the tax area is lesser than the net book value in the book area. In order to make the NBV of tax area equal to that of the NBV of book area, a company needs to post unplanned depreciation in the tax area. However, in case of the last year of useful life in tax area, if the depreciation amount is adjusted by cut off value check, two kinds of unplanned depreciation transactions need to be posted. One transaction is to adjust the annual ordinary depreciation of tax area and the other transaction is to adjust the NBV of tax area to make it equal to the NBV of book area.

In this view, you specify the transaction types used to post the unplanned depreciation to adjust the annual ordinary depreciation of tax area. While reporting using annex 16 form, the system should not consider the amount posted using the specified transaction types, during the calculation of depreciation amount.

You have defined the transaction types for unplanned depreciation in Customizing for Financial Accounting under Asset Accounting → Depreciation → Unplanned Depreciation → Define Transaction Types for Unplanned Depreciation.
