You use the CRM/FIMA test environment to test your financing products and quickly create one or more payment schedules without affecting the contract. We recommend using existing financing products in the test environment.

Management of Views

One internal financing company view is defined. All other views are external.

The system distinguishes between whether entire records are to be added or deleted to the payment schedule template (structural changes), or whether only individual attributes are to be released for entry (value changes). This applies in all of the following: the financing template in the lease quotation, the lease, and the CRM/FIMA test environment.

  • Payment structure
In the payment structure, you can only add or delete entire records in one main view. The system automatically modifies all other views accordingly.
  • One-time flows
You can make changes in the internal, financing company view. These changes, however, are not passed on to the external views. The reason is, for example, that a distribution of the amount financed can also be added at a later date. Otherwise, you designate one view as the main view, and all changes in the main view are inherited by all other views. For example, if you add a down payment in the external view, it also appears in the internal view.
  • In the conditions of the test environment, you should enter the amount financed and interest rates for the interim period and annuity flow categories in the financing company view. For the customer view, you should also enter the amount financed, if the amount financed is different between the internal and external views.

Fixing

You can fix payment steps in the financing product. When you fix payment steps, certain rows in the one-time flows and the payment structure of the test environment are set to #display only# and therefore you can no longer make entries there.

Suppress Calculation

To specify an installment or a nominal interest rate in a payment step, and to use it in the calculation, you have to choose Suppress Calculation in the row in which it appears.

Flat Rate

Based on the settings you make in Customizing, the system calculates a flat rate per x that can be used to compare several financing products. In doing so, the system uses the original financing template to generate a standard financing template. Using this standard financing template, it calculates the flat rate per x. In order for the system to generate the new payment schedule, you have to make settings in Customizing. You have to define which one-time flows are not considered in this process, and which flow categories, payment frequencies and payment forms are to be used for calculating the flat rate per x. The system displays the flat rate per x in the test environment. You can display the payment schedule, which was used as the basis for the calculation of the flat rate per x, in the form of a list. To do so, choose the appropriate list type.

Date Changes

In the test environment, you simulate a shift in dates. Import the product data as of the original contract start date and term start date. You then change the contract start date and term start date. The system automatically adjusts the dates of the imported financing templates (one-time flows, payment structure). Time periods are shifted accordingly, and adjustment steps may be created, in order to ensure that the cycle of payments continues correctly.

Testing Financing with a Financing Product

  1. Enter a sales organization/distribution channel.
  2. Enter a product ID.
  3. Enter the necessary data in the Contract Start, Start of Term, Currency and Interim Days fields. Note that the currency is a required entry field.
You can also have the system propose values automatically using the standard date rules (such as TODAY for the contract start) by choosing Import Product.
  4. Choose Maintain Conditions, in order to enter condition values for the product in a table. These condition values are valid only in the test environment.
  5. Choose Import Product and then Import Conditions, or Import Product with Conditions. The system imports all the data from your financing product (one-time flows, payment structure, and other Customizing settings) and displays it.
  6. Change the settings for the one-time flows or the payment structure, if required.
  7. Choose Payt Calculation. The system calculates the installment payments in the payment schedule. The complete payment schedule is displayed in a table in the lower part of the screen. You can scroll upwards.
  8. Choose Nom.Intrst. The system calculates the nominal interest rate for all payment steps that are not explicitly locked.

Saving Conditions Locally

For test purposes, you can save condition values for each view in a table. These values are valid only in the test environment. The normal condition technique from the contract cannot be used in the test environment.

  1. Choose Maintain Conditions.
  2. Choose a view.
  3. Save.
  4. Choose Continue to return to the original screen.

Testing Financing Without a Financing Product

You can also use the test environment without having a financing product but you must enter all data manually.

  1. Enter data for the payment schedule template, such as Contract Start, Start of Term, Currency and Interim Period.
  2. Enter data for Profiles, Interest Calculation, and Other Settings.
  3. Choose Payt Calculation. The system displays the payment schedule.

Simulating Changes

  1. Use the input help to choose a change date in the Change Date field. Note that changes are only allowed at the end of a period.
  2. Confirm.
The system simulates the calculation of a new payment schedule based on the change. When change activities take place during the lease term, the system calculates the payment schedule starting with the change date.

Changing the Financing View

  1. In the Financing View field, select a financing view from the dropdown list.
  2. Select the required view.
The system displays the data of the selected view.

Changing the List Type

  1. In the List Type field, select a list type from the dropdown list.
  2. Select the required list.
The system displays the list type selected. You can choose from the following list types: Payment Schedule, Cash Flow, Effective Interest Rate, and Flat Rate Payment Schedule.

Deleting Entries

You can delete your entries from the test environment by choosing Delete All Entries or Delete Current View.
