FINCS_VC_TF540_EX - Define External Posting Task

In this activity, you define external posting tasks for the data monitor or consolidation monitor. To be displayed in the Data Monitor or Consolidation Monitor app, the tasks you create must be included in the active task group for the data or consolidation monitor. You include the external posting task in the task group in the following configuration activity: Consolidation Processing → Define Task Group.

The external posting task (task category EX) is performed by the Group Journal Entry PostingOData API. The task cannot be performed directly in Data/Consolidation Monitor. Only its status is displayed there. You must have assigned a valid document type to the task. The validity of the assigned document type depends on the monitor to which the related task group is assigned to. Should your configuration fail to meet these requirements, the Group Journal Entry Posting OData API does not post the group reporting documents. You can assign the following document types to the external posting task:

• Document types with posting level 01, 0C or 10 to the data monitor

• Document types with posting level 20 or 30 to the consolidation monitor

1. Add an external posting task for the data or consolidation monitor
2. Assign a valid document type to the task
3. Include the task in an active task group
4. Send an OData API request
