FINOCV_SPLIT_FLD - Define Technical Document Splitting Characteristics

In this activity, you specify document splitting characteristics, which are source objects for profit center inheritance in journal entries and in other objects, such as purchase orders or sales documents. These document splitting characteristics are relevant for the transfer of open items during an organizational change.

If you use products (materials), you must add the material/plant combination (MATNR) as a technical document splitting characteristic.

If you don't adjust document splitting settings early, before performing an organizational change, you might have open payables/receivables with missing document splitting characteristics. So, you need to add the OPEN_ITEM_ID as document Marei: Do you mean as a "technical" document splitting characteristic?splitting characteristic as well.

This step makes the necessary account assignment object (source object) information available in open payables and receivables. This source object information is necessary to ensure automatic transfer postings for open payables and receivables.

The profit center derivation logic and the document splitting logic used in this example is also valid for purchasing several materials with different profit center assignments in inventory.

Note:

When you create an organizational change, the system checks whether the following document splitting characteristics are activated:

• All CO document splitting characteristics

Ensure that the cost center characteristic is active. When this document splitting characteristic is activated, the profit center derivation source type, which is a technical document splitting characteristic is automatically activated in the background and is necessary to reorganize open items.

• The Material/Plant document splitting characteristic

• The Assetdocument splitting characteristic

If you've maintained necessary document splitting characteristics according to your application use, but not all possible document splitting characteristics, you can switch off the warning message issued for this check. The message is configurable using the message change control.

In the Message Control by User transaction. you can specify whether the message is issued or not. The message type can be as follows:

• W (Warning) or

• '-' (Switch off message)

To change the message type for this message in the Message Control by User transaction, proceed as follows:

1. Enter the FINOC application area.
2. Choose New Entries
3. Enter the following data:

• Message Number:

You can use the input help (F4) for the MsgNo field to see which messages can be entered.

• User Name:

If you enter a name in this field, the specifications are valid for this user only. If the field is left blank, the settings apply for all users in this client.

• Message Type:

Use the input help (F4) for the Online or BatchI fields to see which message type is permitted.

1. Save your entries. The system automatically uses the relevant message text.
